2016 Bar-Bat Mitzvah Party Themes

The transition from childhood to adulthood is celebrated in various communities around the world. According to Jewish tradition, it is in early adolescence that people are ready to be judged for their actions. During the bat-mitzvah (girls) or bar-mitzvah (boys), young people have signed a commitment to keep the commandments of Torah and become a better person.

When planning a Bar/Bat-Mitzvah party, there are some creative and original themes to choose. The theme of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah can be incorporated in a variety of ways throughout the celebration. Be sure to choose a theme that fits the personality of the person who is being honored.

Be creative. Originality is something that cannot be overlooked when planning the Bar/Bat Mitzvah. There are simple themes that they might want – sports, board or beachy games. If they love football, come with a sports-related creative slogan to gather the subject. If they love to dance, maybe throw a spotlight routine or instead of giving shirts, give sandals with funny sayings on them for children.

In addition to souvenirs, you should think about how you want the party invitations. You should try to incorporate the theme in them.

There is a list of some cool themes for your Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Israel

When planning a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, you may think of a traditional theme. However, this doesn’t mean that the party planner can not get a little creative. Consider using names of different cities or places in Israel, such as the names of the tables along a corridor. Use blue and white accent pieces like tablecloths and favors, as gifts.

Games

To add a bit ‘of fun at the party, consider throwing a night Bar/Bat Mitzvah games. Around the party area, you can organize the tables with different games on them. There could be several table games with traditional board games as checkers and chess. Furthermore, some of the room tables can be dedicated to card games. Offer players the chance to collect points or coins and create a special prize at the end of the night.

Mystery

Turn your traditional celebration in a real mystery. The main party event can be a treasure hunt where guests use the clues to find a variety of prizes throughout the night. Make a centerpiece for the table magnifiers and other spy tools. Guests can get notebooks and pens as favors at the time to join the party. They can use the gifts when searching for clues for the treasure hunt.

Heaven

A celestial theme is one of the most popular themes for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah party. Although this theme may be common, it can always be seasoned with a variety of creative ideas. Consider draping strands of white Christmas lights along the ceiling, to create the atmosphere of a starry night. Adding star confetti scattered on the tables will create a shimmering, heavenly feeling to the room.

Adapt the traditional themes combining them with modern details and have fun choosing the theme for the big day!
